IF you would like a free tickets to the District B13 Showing in AUSTIN and HOUSTON please show up 1 to 2 hours early.  Your leaders will be handing out tickets and there are limited space in the theatre.  PLEASE wear you Texas Parkour T-Shirts, make signs and get ready to show people what true parkour is all about.

I'll be there around 5:30 (depending on bus schedules) to grab a ticket for myself and my girlfriend. Looking forward to it.

Sounds like fun but I don't want to have to go 1-2 hours previous. Who's handing out tickets? I live a few hundred yards away from that theatre in Houston, maybe I can swing by after work 6:15ish, hook up with a ticket and come back after I go home and change, etc...

Also, I don't see anything on their website about a showing this evening.

Never mind. Called to confirm. Not on the website because it's invitation only.

ATTENTION: The B13 showing in Houston at Edwards Theatre is still going on. However the leaders will not be there to hand out tickets. I personally would have gone to hand them out but already accepted to work 12-8 this week at work before i knew about this. I don't want anyone to go out there and be let down. Sorry for the inconvenience.

That's retarded. Why would Texas Parkour post on it's front page to make signs and wear t-shirts (not that anyone would've made signs) if Texas Parkour wasn't even going to show up to provide tickets?

Regardless whether or not it's close to my house, I did just go to the theatre, wait around for 10-15, asked the random 2-3 people I saw with tickets printed out if they were from Texas Parkour, only to be disappointed.

Pretty lame guys...

Yes we know that it turned out bad. Not our fault. The volunteers did not pull through. No need to ridicule us on it.

I suppose it's my fastidious nature.

If you're not the person responsible for providing the tickets on location, Logan, "retardation" and lameness aren't directed toward you. I appreciate your valor in being the voice for the no show.

As excited as MLW seemed to be about being able to provide us such a treat (thanks for trying M), I as well as the guy who took the bus to be disappointed were seeded with the expectation of seeing a movie.

Besides, if someone volunteers for something, doesn't show up for what they volunteered for, disappoints everyone who was relying on that person to volunteer and nobody let's that volunteer know that's messed up and they should take things like that more seriously, they never will.

Lol Cameron that last paragraph there it took me a couple read overs to comprehend it all with all that usage of the word volunteer. I will talk with Matt and let him know that i am willing to help with these types of things to just let me know in advance. And yes Matt was excited for this as was many others. And unfortunately this will prob come back on him from the theater.

Hey, cameron and other disappointed parkour movie fans. The retardation and lameness needs to be directed at me, not Matt. I am the reason this didn't happen for you guys, and I'm sorry. Please don't put this on anyone else (Matt, Logan, etc.).



That's the nutshell; here are the gory details:

1) two weeks ago, the marketing rep for the movie gets my contact info from Matt
2) last week, she sends me the PDFs for the passes; I ask her how many we can use, and she says as many as we print out.
2.1) I get massively sick with flu and can barely walk for a couple days. Access to a printer, handing out the passes, etc. are obviously not going to happen.
3) On the phone with Matt and Shae, I apologize for not being able to handle the passes in my condition. I try to make arrangements for them to handle my responsibility, but it's all pretty last minute and it obviously didn't work out.

I'll repeat here: This is my fault.

For his part, Matt said he'd be glad to make the announcement about the passes on TXPK. I wasn't thinking ahead to what kind of announcement he'd make (I wasn't thinking about much of anything beyond sleeping). That led to some wrong expectations.

So it's last-minute miscommunication, all starting with me. Thank you, Logan, for doing your best to cover for something you didn't know about.

If anyone wants to follow up on this (i.e. kick my ass), feel free to let me know. I'll be at Tranq next Saturday, at the workshop event.
